Element
New perspectives on Northern Norwegian landscape
Element is a photographic installation covering the walls of the Black Box, where a series of small landscape photographs come together in an immense panorama of Northern Norwegian nature. Employing collage and manipulated perspective, Tollefsen creates an irrational and dreamlike vision of a landscape that is both beautiful and merciless, physical and emotional – and where the most important element is the subjective experience of the viewer himself.
Espen Tollefsen (b. 1963 in Narvik) is a photographer and co-owner of Gallery Nøss at Andøya in Vesterålen. He dominantly works with photographic collage and site-specific photographic installations.
