As a part of the activities of North Norwegian Art Centre, we support independent projects initiated by artists. To be eligible for support applicants must be professional artists working within the field of visual arts, and the project must take place within the region of Northern Norway.
Renowned art institution The Kitchen in New York opens «Lines of Distribution» in collaboration with North Norwegian Art Centre and Lofoten International Art Festival - LIAF. Tonight the exhibition's opening weekend programme will be streamed live.

This is the amount of delay of the live broadcast on Montez Press Radio of a concert that took place on September 7, 2024, at Sørvågen Radio, the former telegraph station in the remote fishing village far west in the Lofoten islands of Northern Norway.

North Norwegian Art Centre and LIAF Artistic Advisory Board are happy to announce the opening weekend of Lofoten International Art Festival—LIAF 2024, taking place September 20–22.
This year's festival exhibition is based on the history surrounding the Lofoten Line: a large-scale national initiative from 1861 which was supposed to make the Lofoten fishery more efficient. With its 170 km of submarine cables and land lines, the facility constituted the country's first telegraph line outside the main telecommunications network.
